Bucket brigade

Thrasher Magazine, Nov, 2009 by Daniel Jeglum

What I'm about to tell you is correct. All people are required to use a helmet while skating, correct? I should know. I'm really lucky to be standing over the ground rather than being under it--what I mean is that I'm lucky to be alive. I was skating with a friend 21 years ago. He wanted me to be skating safely, but I didn't. The bad part is I lost. I was skating down a hill, slammed, landed on my back, and shook the inside of my skull. Because of that I was in a coma that lasted for eight months. So, it's true: safety is important. Not just that, but it's also the law. Caught without it? The value of the penalty is a one-thousand dollar fine here in California. So, yes I am correct, safety is important.
