THIS SPOT HAS BEEN in my neighborhood for as long as I can remember. I grew up--like countless other suburban kids--playing little league. Being a little buddy, this seemed like the most epic place to go. It wasn't long before I picked up a skateboard and put down the bat, and this spot has been in the back of my mind since. One random day I was out skating nearby and decided to check it out. Sure enough the guys working were down with us skating, and after talking to some managers we got the green light to hit it up one morning before they opened. I brought some of the Furnace crew and we sessioned the banks for a few hours. Sometimes it pays to ask.
