(1) Indexes in this table are derived from the primary product
indexes in table 5 that are weighted using 1997 input/output
relationships. These indexes only include inputs to construction
which are produced by the mining and manufacturing sectors of
the economy excluding capital equipment. Since they do not
include labor or capital costs, these indexes should not be
regarded as comprehensive measures of construction costs. See
note on page 190 of the July 1986 issue of Producer Price Indexes.
(2) The indexes for June 2004 have been recalculated to
incorporate late reports and corrections by respondents. All data
are subject to revision 4 months after original publication.
