9/11 Pentagon attack
New American, The, Nov 1, 2004 by James F. Gimpel, Laura Curtis
Thank you for your article on the Pentagon attack of 9/11 ("Getting the Facts Straight" by Dennis Behreandt, August 23 issue). I, like the author, am aware of the doubts that Flight 77 actually crashed into the Pentagon. These doubts are based on a number of facts. For one, there appears to be no identifiable portion of a 757 on any of the available photos. The most likely candidate was the piece of cowling shown in a photo in the article, but no one to my knowledge has determined this to be part of a 757. This is in sharp contrast to the usual plane crash situation whereby almost the entire plane can be reconstructed from the parts that are found.
Another problem is the government's response to this controversy. They initially indicated they had no video of the impact. Then when it was speculated that it might have been a truck bomb, the government brought forth selected still pictures of a security camera video (two of which are shown in the article). But this raised several new doubts. Why lie about not having a video in the first place? Why not release the full video? Why was the aircraft only shown hiding behind a post with an exhaust trail visible? Why was there a visible trail which is uncharacteristic for a jet? Why was the fireball at impact white-hot, which is characteristic of an explosion, rather than a reddish hue which one might expect in a fireball from a jet plane crash? Why were all nearby videos from private sources confiscated and never shown? Why is the major media so uncurious about these questions? Finally, no one in the government admits to seeing the complete video so that no one in the government can be questioned on it. The nature of the craft that flew into the Pentagon may be a bit murky but the telltale signs of cover-up are clearly in view.
I, like the author, would like to resolve these doubts. But the way to resolve them is not to disparage the doubters. Rather, question those that are responsible for the investigation. How do they answer these questions? Time is running out. A change in administration could result in having all significant evidence finding its way into some memory hole.

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for your article "Getting the Facts Straight." I know people who promote the idea that no plane, or a remote-controlled one, hit the Pentagon. All these wild, illogical theories harm our cause by making us all look like nut jobs and dividing us amongst ourselves. I'm sure that the globalists smile when they see us spending valuable time "proving" and "disproving" this bunk. Even if every one of these theories were true, so what? It does not change the bottom line--that America is losing its independence. We need to fight that by sticking to the goal, not getting sidetracked by minutiae and debating the extent of the evil we fight.
