President George W Bush announced his intent on March 7, 2001, to nominate E.C. "Pete" Aldridge Jr., to be Under Secretary of Defense (Acquisition, Technology and Logistics). Aldridge is currently the Chief Executive Officer of The Aerospace Corporation in Arlington, Va. He held the post of Secretary of the Air Force from 1986 -- 1988, and he has held a variety of positions within the Department of Defense.
