Bound for a showdown

Flex, July, 2009 by Allan Donnelly

David Henry and Flex Lewis finished one-two in the 202-and-under division at the Tampa Bay Pro Bodybuilding Weekly Championships last year and one-three at the 202 Showdown. This year, they are expected to enter different shows leading up to the 202 Showdown during Olympia Weekend--Henry competed in the New York Pro in May, white Lewis will wait until August for his 2009 debut--but that didn't stop the duo from trading barbs at the Bodybuilding.com Expo in Boise, Idaho, in early April.

"Flex Lewis doesn't belong on the same stage as me," Henry said--to a chorus of boos--when called onstage by emcee Bob Cicherillo.

Lewis, albeit more diplomatic, didn't take kindly to Henry's comments.

"I know what his capabilities are," Lewis said. "He came in right at the top of the scale last year. I was in at 183 pounds at the Olympia, so I still have a lot of room to grow. I think on his best day and my best day, it'll be a great battle. I trained all year for first place. In my mind, I can beat him."
