Ronnie reloaded?

Flex, July, 2009 by Allan Donnelly

Despite repeatedly saying that the 2007 Olympia was his last, Ronnie Coleman may go back on his word and return to the O for a go at a record-breaking ninth Sandow this September. "I learned that you should never say never," Coleman stated. "I said that I would never return, but everybody's begging me to come back and do it."

With the postponement of Joe Weider's Pro World Cup in Berlin, Germany--where Coleman had been planning a return to competition--it looks like the 2009 Mr. Olympia is a very real possibility. "Right now, we're at 60 percent, but if everything gets lined up, we'll go from sixty to 100 [percent] for the O," Coleman stated.

What does Coleman think of the competitors he might face in September-familiar adversaries, such as Jay Cutler and Dexter Jackson, and new ones, including Phil Heath and Kai Greene? "I don't worry about what--nobody else is doing," Coleman explained. "I compete against myself. I always go into a show thinking I'm gonna win it. I can't predict anything less." If he does in fact enter, you'd have eight-time Mr. Olympia Coleman, two-time Mr. Olympia Cutler and reigning Mr. Olympia Jackson all battling for the coveted Sandow. "That's something special," Coleman said. "Three Mr. Olympias all onstage at the same time competing against each other. You'll never see that again." Got your tickets yet?
