Gym doctor

Flex, July, 2009 by Jim Stoppani

Symptoms If you train during a high-traffic time slot, you probably have noticed that your gym has a cable-crossover station, but you never have the opportunity to use it. This means you are missing out on a great biceps exercise: high-cable curls.

Rx No need to wait in line for the cable crossover when you can get a similar effect using an incline bench set at a low angle, but which is high enough to allow your arm to clear the floor. Lie on your side on the bench with your armpit at the top of the bench and your arm hanging straight down toward the floor. Curl the dumbbell and pause at the top, contracting your biceps as hard as possible for a second or two before returning to the starting position.
