THE MENACE ON QUADS

SQUATS

If you hate squats, it will show. There's no getting around them, if you want big legs. I couldn't squat for a while because of back problems, and it showed. But now they're back in and, oh, what a difference they make.

KNOW THY SQUAT

* Use a shoulder-width, or slightly wider, stance.

* None of this quarter-rep nonsense--aim for past parallel.

* If your legs are already built up, alternate regular squats with front squats from week to week.

* Always warm up your knees. FLEX
