Don't trust their numbers

Muscle & Fitness/Hers, July, 2003

If you're screaming for ice cream and want to minimize the dietary damage by getting a reduced-fat cone at McDonald's, don't trust the nutrition information you Find on its website.

It lists 150 calories and 3 grams saturated fat for a 90-gram reduced-fat vanilla ice cream cone, but the Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI) found two sizes for sale in a survey of five McDonald's chains in Washington. D.C. Even the smaller cone exceeded McDonald's official size by 49%, with 225 calories and 4.5 grams saturated fat, which is 22% of the recommended daily value. The larger cones purchased by CSPI exceeded McDonald's listed size by 99%, with 300 calories and 6 grams saturated fat.

Women are more likely than men to fall short of eating the recommended five servings of fruits and veggies each day. Overall, just one in five Americans meets the five-a-day minimum
