Vaulting over the competition

Muscle & Fitness/Hers, August, 2004

We're not sure what's most amazing about Nike's PV Light: that it's the first-ever shoe designed specifically for pole vaulting or that it started out as a shoe designed for women. Well, actually one woman: pole-vaulting phenom Stacy Dragila, who won the first-ever gold medal in women's Olympic pole vaulting in 2000. When she goes for gold in Athens, Dragila will be sporting a pair of PV Lights with red-white-and-blue uppers to which she offered design input. Designed in part by a duo of former polevaulting brothers, the PV Light has a seamless inner-bootie for long-wearing comfort and an innovative strap for quick tightening and support.
