Sweet inspiration

Muscle & Fitness/Hers, Sept-Oct, 2003 by Troy E. Meyer

We received this poem from Troy E. Meyer, a member of the United States Coast Guard. He'd like to dedicate this poem to his wife, Tara-Jean Meyer, and all the other female fitness enthusiasts out there. Thanks, Troy!

Dreams
Silently she stands in a world all her own
As she looks down at the weight she is about to throw.
She does not consider the risk or the pain
But to get the weight up is her claim to fame.
As she wraps her hands around this bar made of steel,
She closes her eyes and begins to feel
The dream of a stage with cameras and lights
And a crowd up roaring with applause and delight
For she owns this stage, her dream tonight.

But back to reality in this cold, dark gym
For she throws up the weight wearing a beautiful grin.
For she knows in her mind, body and soul,
That this dream will become reality
And that stage will be her throne.

Keep up your dream!
