Successful safety strategy

Muscle & Fitness/Hers, Nov, 2003

I was so grateful to see your magazine publish the article "Make A Strong Point." It's too important of a subject to ignore. I've been in a situation where I wish I had training in self-defense. I would love to see more articles like this, especially on the pressure point defense systems. Keep up the good work. It could help the next girl caught in a bad situation!

I am a gym owner and I have three martial arts schools in Colorado. I just read the article with Mel Abraham about fitness and pressure point self-defense ["Make a Strong Point," August 2003]. I thought Lara McGlashan did a great job explaining the importance of both physical fitness and martial arts. I believe it's crucial for women (and men) to cross-train for overall physical development. Thank you for including a story about martial arts as one of the all-around physical fitness aspects of training.
