Auto pilot

Muscle & Fitness/Hers, Dec, 2003

Instead of tediously logging in the particulars of your daily exercise regimen, now you can just plug in your Palm Pilot and let it do the work. Star Trac has introduced the Elite treadmill, a model equipped with software that allows you to record your workout information by placing your Palm Pilot in the treadmill's cup holder.

It monitors calories, heart rate, speed and distance and makes it easy to compare your latest workout to previous ones. The information flow goes both ways, too--you can pre-design your own programs and upload them into the treadmill. Aside from the Palm interface, the Elite also has a digital personal scale built into its base for more accurate calorie counts and a handrail that doubles as a heart rate monitor. And with two personal fans, this is the coolest ride in the gym. You can find the Star Trac Elite in gyms all over the country. Go to www.startrac.com for more info or for a free Pro Partner software download.
