Industry: Email Alert RSS FeedIncreasing stamping speed - Brief Article
Automotive Design & Production, Nov, 2001
Who: Press Technology Corporation (Cambridge, Ontario)
What: Link Press Series
Why you should care: Link presses increase strokes-per-minute rating that can double press productivity without exceeding the draw speed limitations of the part.
Pertinent Data: PTC says that the motion of their link presses allows for optimized metal flow and reduced metal spring-back. The presses are suitable for aluminum as well as high-strength and lower cost steel. Three types of link drives (blanking, combination and draw) are available, each suited for different stroke lengths and application requirements. The main drive motor and ram adjustment motor mounts are isolated from the severe shock that attends stamping of materials like high-strength or stainless steel.
