Seagate Technology (www.seagate.com) has developed a hard drive with the ability to store up to 40 Gbytes of data For use in vehicle applications. The EE25 drive can withstand operating temperatures between -30 to 85 degrees C, with the ability to withstand vibration interruptions. The company is currently testing the drive with an undisclosed OEM for use on a variety of infotainment systems, including navigation and diagnostics, with potential availability in a non-U.S. branded vehicle in the next 18 months.
