Automotive Design & Production, Dec, 2001
This may be a bit tricky to tallow: DELMIA Corp. (Troy, MI) has introduced Version 5 Release 7 (V5R7) of its Digital Manufacturing Solutions that provides integration between all of the company's software aps that operate on top of the PPR, or Product, Process and Resource model, which is shared across Dassault Systemes' 3d Product Lifecycle Management applications. Got that?
OK. How about this: DELMIA is one of the Dassault Systemes companies. Dassault is also the company that is responsible for CATIA CAx packages and ENOVIA product data management (PDM) packages.

So by having the PPR model shared by all of the software, it is now possible for a user to greatly improve the efficiency of process planning and verification within the context of a collaborative engineering program: Use CATIA for product design, use that information for process development with the DELMIA aps, then have ENOVIA for purposes of communicating and managing information. Which isn't in the least bit tricky.
