Torqued up - Ergonomically - In Gear

Automotive Design & Production, Dec, 2002

Who: Mountz, Inc. (San Jose, CA)

What: Ergo Micro Torque screwdriver

Pertinent Data: The screwdrivers feature micro-adjustable external adjustment rings and "positive" locking systems that help prevent improper torque adjustments. A bi-directional cam design "slips free" when the specified torque setting is reached, eliminating the risk of over-tightening fasteners. They have a precision radial ball clutch and cam that allow for automatic resetting. And larger models have a removable T-bar that provides extra leverage without sacrificing accuracy.

Why you should care: Mountz says that the fatigue-reducing rubber grip and externally adjustable settings on its new screwdrivers "dramatically increase operator efficiency during multi-step processes."
