Blind rivets - In Gear - from Emhart Fastening Teknologies - Brief Article

Automotive Design & Production,  Jan, 2002

Who: Emhart Fastening Teknologies (Mt. Clemens, MI)

What: "F-Series open blind rivet

Why you should care: The "F"-Series uses a body and mandrel that lock together during assembly to form a seal that is both weather-tight and eliminates rattles.

Pertinent Data: Emhart claims that the "F"-Series provide up to twice the shear and tensile strength of other open-end rivets. The rivets fill oversize and irregularly shaped holes and feature a unique secondary head design that assures total mandrel retention.

The large symmetrical blind-side spread allows for use in soft or brittle materials, and the smooth, rounded mandrel ball is designed to insert easily into the workpiece.
