Inside job - In Gear - EFD Inc - 782RA radial spray valve - Brief Article

Automotive Design & Production,  March, 2002

Who: EFD Inc. (East Providence, RI)

What: 782RA radial spray valve

Why you should care: This radial spray valve applies consistent coatings of lubricants, primers and other low- to medium-viscosity fluids inside cylinders 1 in. to 12 in. in diameter, Its applications include: lubricating engine cylinders, coating bushing interiors with paint or primer and applying adhesive activator inside DC motor cans.

Pertinent Data: The 782RA uses low volume, low pressure air and a rotating air cap to achieve 360-degree coverage while avoiding mist or overspray. EFD says that the valve's high transfer efficiency and instant fluid cutoff at the end of the spray cycle allows for even coating application without gaps, dripping or clogging. The valve is compact in size, can be easily installed and is designed to be low-maintenance. EFD says these features make it a low-cost retrofit for existing production lines.
