Why you should care: This machine has the capability of producing ultra-bright finishes on wheels up to a max. of 24.5 in.
Pertinent Data: The ASL 2400 features high-resolution, one-micron encoders and a precision spindle balanced to less than three grams. It has box-way construction that facilitates heavy metal removal and accuracy during interrupted cuts. Slideways are protected by a new air purge and dual sliding seal system. The servo-driven turret has a capacity for six tools and can utilize either 0.D. tools with 1 1/4 in. square shanks or I.D. tools with 2 1/2 in. diameter shanks. The 50-hp integral DDS motor produces a maximum spindle speed of 3,000 rpm with an acceleration / deceleration time of less that 3.4 seconds using a standard finger chuck, top tooling and wheel.
