Get a shrink! - In Gear - Shrink-Master induction shrink-fit work station - Brief Article - Product Announcement

Automotive Design & Production,  June, 2002

Who: Emuge Corp. (Northborough, MA)

What: Shrink-Master induction shrink-fit work station

Why you should care: The Shrink-Master quickly shrinks or un-shrinks carbide and high strength steel tools in specially designed clamping chucks. Emuge points out that shrink-fit tools have two to four times more clamping force than their conventional counterparts.

Pertinent Data: The Shrink-Master can be used on all straight shank solid carbide tools with h6 tolerance and provides similar shrinking times for small and large tool diameters. Its rotating dial design allows for simultaneous work on up to four clamping chucks (1 heating, 3 cooling). It is applicable for different clamping chucks up to ISO/ANSI taper 50 / HSK100 and requires only a three-phase power supply.
