Supercharger drive

Automotive Design & Production, August, 2006

SUPERCHARGER DRIVE The Antonov Mechanical Module (www.antonovtransmission.com) is a two-speed automatic transmission that attaches to a Rotrex centrifugal supercharger, and drives it faster at low engine speeds without over-driving it at higher speeds. Though more compact and less complex than a positive-displacement supercharger, a centrifugal unit does not have the same low-speed torque capacity without this module. The unit attaches to the supercharger without need for either external controls or hydraulics.
