Literary charity ProLiteracy Worldwide has received the Oprah's Angel Network Book Club Award for its work with children and families in Colombia.
The charity will receive a USD50,000 award to help with its work which was recognised when 'One Hundred Years of Solitude' - which is based on author Gabriel Garcia Marquez' ancestral roots in Colombia - was chosen as an Oprah's Book Club selection.

The money was raised from proceeds of book club merchandise sold on Oprah.com and will be used to buy books and establish teaching programmes in Colombia.
