Industry: Email Alert RSS FeedOFT refers acquisition of Bertram by Woolworths to Competition Commission

A referral to the Competition Commission has been made by the UK's Office of Fair Trading (OFT) regarding the acquisition of book wholesaler Bertram Group by UK retailer Woolworths.
Woolworths acquired Bertram Group in January this year.
According to The Times, until the investigation is concluded Woolworths must provide undertakings to keep Bertram separate from THE, the book wholesaling business that it acquired last September.
The preliminary results of the investigation are scheduled to be released at the beginning of August, although the findings may not be completed until 14 September.
