Bookseller Borders has announced that it is to launch three limited edition gift cards featuring the cover art of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the final book in JK Rowling's Harry Potter series.

The cards, which are available at all Borders and Waldenbooks stores throughout the US and online at http://giftcards.borders.com, feature holographic 3D images and the words "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows", and Severus Snape switching between "friend" and "foe" as the viewing angle changes.

The company said that the Snape image is a Borders exclusive based on its "Great Snape Debate" campaign and publication of a book titled The Great Snape Debate.

The gift cards are available in values between USD5 and USD500 and can be used to purchase anything in the store.

In addition the company announced that it is to offer a free poster to customers who purchase a copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows when the book is released at midnight on 21 July. The 22" by 36" poster features the cover art of the final book.
