Penguin to release e-books at same time as its paper versions

Publishing house Penguin are set to simultaneously release new print editions as both books and e-books from September 2008.

Pearson, the publisher's parent company, confirmed that books from its travel division and from the Dorling Kindersley brand will be the first editions available, including 'The Believers' by Zoe Heller and 'Things I Want My Daughter to Know' by Elizabeth Noble.

Penguin have started work to create e-books for 5,000 of its back catalogue, including Alan Greenspan's 'The Age Of Turbulence', whilst Penguin Classics will publish new editions of 'The Three Musketeers' by Alexandre Dumas and 'Eugene Onegin' by Alexander Pushkin.

According to The Telegraph, the e-books will cost the same as the paper versions with the same release dates.
