Simon & Schuster introduces Speakers Bureau

M2 Best Books,  June 19, 2008

M2 BEST BOOKS-(C)2000-2008 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

Publishers Simon & Schuster Inc announced on 18 June that it has teamed up with Greater Talent Network Inc (GTN) to create Speakers Bureau, a resource that will bring established authors to audiences of readers and book buyers.

Simon & Schuster said that, since the launch of the Speakers Bureau, speaking engagements are already being reserved by meeting and event planners. Authors published by Simon & Schuster Inc, as well as expert speakers, will make presentations on a range of themes, which will include subjects such as health and well-being, current affairs, history and politics and celebrities.

Full details of the Simon & Schuster Speakers Bureau service can be seen at http://www.simonsays.com/speakersbureau, where each author is profiled along with video clips of their individual presentations on the SSSB site. This reportedly enables event organisers to coordinate authors with the theme of a presentation.

According to the company, participating experts already available to the Speakers Bureau include columnists such as Jonathan Alter and Mark Bittman, authors such as Jill Connor Brown, Mary Higgins Clark, Philippa Gregory and Carlos Eire, and pop-culture journalist and commentator Chuck Klosterman.
