Recycling Today, Jan, 2005
Penn State University has received an $863,000 grant to create the Pennsylvania Recycling Markets Center (RMC) at Penn State-Harrisburg to encourage the continued growth and economic health of Pennsylvania's recycling industry.
The RMC's mission is to expand and develop stronger and more stable markets for recovered secondary materials, stimulate demand for products with recycled content and research and maintain current market trend data. The center will be the lead organization in developing recycling markets in Pennsylvania, working with environmental, technical assistance and economic development organizations to support generators, haulers, processors, manufacturers and end users of recycled materials and products, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP).
