USPL drops composite lumber line

Recycling Today, Jan, 2005

U.S. Plastic Lumber, headquartered in Chicago, has announced its plans to exit the composite decking and OEM composite business.

The company's decision relates to USPL's plan to focus on its PE product lines, which include its Trimax structural lumber line and CareFree Xteriors HDPE Decking, as part of its restructuring.

USPL filed for protection under Chapter 11 laws in July of 2004, and is in the process of putting together a restructuring plan.
