Moros baler heading to Canada - Equipment Report - to American Iron & Metal - Brief Article

Recycling Today, April, 2003

American Iron & Metal (AIM), Montreal, is purchasing a high-volume Moros baler to handle stainless steel scrap at its main facility in Montreal.

The Spanish-made Moros GC-S-800 baler was purchased by AIM through Moros North America, Louisville, Ky.

According to Ed List of Moros North America, the GC-S-800 can produce 24-inch by 24-inch by variable length bales with a density of 218 pounds per cubic foot. The machine uses 880 tons of baling force to produce bales every 50 seconds.

The AIM-bound baler is the second one to be installed this year, with another GC-S-800 having been sold to a Umicore facility in the city of Olen, Belgium.

That machine is currently making copper bales measuring 24 inches by 24 inches with a density of 280 pounds per cubic foot.
