Rejuvenation literally means "to become younger". When I feel rejuvenated, I feel enlivened, energized, connected with the world around me, and all of those qualities are ones that we notice in children. It means becoming more childlike by letting go of the adult hang-ups of control and disillusionment, and seeing the magic of the world with fresh, new eyes.

So, what is it that rejuvenates us, that brings us back to life after long weeks of traffic and computer screens? Some people think of yoga and meditation as rejuvenating experiences, but others would rather jump into a swimming hole, read a book, soak in a hot tub, or go for a brisk walk at 6am. Some would feel their most rejuvenated if they just slept for a whole day and night, straight through. Whatever your favorite rejuvenating pastime is, it makes you feel fed and cleansed by participating in it. You go on into the rest of your life with new perspective and new energy, and you bring those gifts to the people around you. We could all do with some more rejuvenation!

This issue offers up a variety of options for rejuvenation. Perhaps one of our articles will remind you to take a day off and try something new to pamper yourself. So, go out on your porch, kick off your shoes, get comfortable in your lounge chair, and enjoy.
