Remember the 14th - Letters to the Editor - Letter to the Editor

Translog: Journal of Military Transportation Management, Jan-Feb, 2001 by Roberto Provenzano

The article, "Here come the Carbs," published in the Sep/Oct 2000 TRANSLOG Magazine, contains one inexactness. To be more specific, in the sentence: "Just recently, the 839th Transportation Battalion road marched seven launcher bridges (M60 tank chassis-mounted) from Combat Equipment Battalion-Livorno, located at the Leghorn Army Depot, to the port of Livorno......."

What was described in the article is part of the daily working relationship with the 839th Transportation Battalion. However, highway clearances, march credits and Carabinieri escorts are coordinated, Italy-wide, by the 14th Transportation Battalion (MC), located at Vicenza, Livorno and Aviano, Italy.

This specific move has been coordinated by the Movement Control Team-Livorno, subordinate unit of the 14th Transportation Battalion (MC).

Best regards,

Mr. Roberto Provenzano, Traffic Manager
14th Transportation Battalion (MC)
