Best issue ever - Letters to the Editor - Letter to the Editor

Translog: Journal of Military Transportation Management, Jan-Feb, 2001 by Denis Wengland

The November 2000 TRANSLOG was the best issue ever.

I say this having been involved with MTMC both as a customer and as part of the organization, from time to time, since the day I became a transporter, in 1965. I was then assigned to the 13th USASA Field Station, Harrogate, Yorkshire, England--a long way from the Communications Zone in France.

That duty assignment was way up in the moors, keeping company with sheep and antenna fields.

What's different? Meaningful real-time information as to where the organization is, where it is going and why. Why does it matter? The obvious: Organizations work much better if everyone knows what the game plan/vision is.

What I hope you don't do? Slip back into a self-congratulatory cheerleading house organ.

You and your staff really have made a difference!

Thanks.
