Retired Lt. Gen. Ed Honor receives MTMC recognition

Translog: Journal of Military Transportation Management, March-April, 2002

In one very poignant moment at the MTMC symposium, special recognition was offered to a former MTMC Commander--whose contributions to the organization have continued long after he left active Army service many years ago.

To a standing ovation from participants at the 2002 MTMC Training Symposium, retired Lt. Gen. Ed Honor was presented with a copy of the book, "THE ARMY," produced by the Army Historical Foundation.

"MTMC has meant a great deal to me," said Honor.

"It is a great organization. I have truly enjoyed its people."

This is the last time Honor will attend the MTMC Training Symposium as President of the National Defense Transportation Association, Alexandria, Va. He will retire after the association's annual meeting in Greensboro, N.C., in October.

The book was officially presented by Maj. Gen. Kenneth L. Privratsky, Commander.

Engraved on the cover of the book was the inscription: "For your unselfish service, teaching us the true meaning of industry partnership, and for providing outstanding leadership in developing global transportation solutions."

"General Honor has always been a source of wisdom and counsel for me," said Privratsky.

Honor, who served in five separate assignments with the Military Traffic Management Command, was Commander from 1986 to 1987.
