Wheelchair users deserve respect

As a wheelchair user, I think it would be great if only wheelchair users were able to get the special wheelchair plates. Others who suffer from disabilities should just get the placard to hang on the mirror. Also, cars that park in spaces for lift-equipped vans should get a ticket. My lift-equipped van has been blocked many times by cars parked in and on the striped lines between the regular parking places.

We need all the help we can get. Wheelchair users should get a break in parking places. Harry W. Coleman, Arcadia, FL
