Treatment of U.S. POWs a disgrace

VFW Magazine, Nov, 2002

"Prisoners of Terror" (September) was excellent. This article should be sent to every member of Congress. Treatment of U.S. POWs held by terrorist regimes should be a VFW priority.

Al Qaeda terrorists held at Guantanamo Bay live better there than they did in their own homelands. Meanwhile, our gallant soldiers have been subjected to unspeakable torture in Islamic captivity--this is a disgrace!

"Prisoners of Terror" told a story that has long been neglected. Thank God you helped set the record straight. Now if only the bleeding heart media would do so.

The POW article was outstanding and very interesting. As a speaker on POW Recognition Day, I distributed 70 copies to former POWs and others at a ceremony in Huntington, W.Va.
