U.S. remains found in North Korea

Remains of what are believed to be GIs killed in the Korean War were repatriated in September. The precise number of remains will be determined in forensic examinations at the Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command (JPAC) laboratory at Hickam Air Force Base in Hawaii.
Two JPAC recovery teams, comprising 28 Americans, found the remains near the Chosin Reservoir, where the 7th Infantry Division fought in November-December 1950, and in Unsan County, where the 1st Cavalry and 25th Infantry divisions battled Communist forces in November 1950.
