Vietnam center progressing

In September, the architectural firm of Polshek Partnership Architects was Selected to head the design team for the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Education Center in Washington, D.C. The exhibition Designer will be Ralph Appelbaum Associates of New York. Its projects Include the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington and the Liberty Memorial Museum of Word War I in Kansas City, Mo.
"The stories, faces and experiences featured in this new Center will ensure veterans of Vietnam will never fade from memory," said Ralph Appelbaum, the firm's founder. "The lessons of this war will continue to help us navigate our lives and focus our thoughts on the meanings of national service and patriotic duty."
The Education Center is expected to take three to five years to build and cost more than $40 million. No federal funds will be used to build the museum.
