No one can say that James Spaniolo ducks controversy. Only a few days after being named president of the University of Texas Arlington--and even before finalizing his salary and benefits with the regents--Spaniolo supported the recent regents' decision to hike tuition next semester. Spaniolo, who officially takes office in February, has not confirmed whether he will immediately launch searches for the vacant provost, VP of Finance, and VP of Research spots.
