University Business, Jan, 2004 by Alana Klein
From Tech-Smith come Camtasia Studio 2, multimedia screen recording and production software, and SnagIt 7, the newest version of the company's screen capture software. Camtasia Studio 2 is particularly useful for distance learning, computer-based instruction, and video-on-demand courses, because its standard file format can be shared with most PC users. Camtasia Studio 2 features include Video with a Human Touch (which allows users to add personal video introductions and digital video recordings), and Interactive Flash Hot Spots (to add interactivity to Flash movies). Enhanced Editing lets users preview edits and transitions in real time, and Any Playback Size enables full-screen recordings to play on smaller PC and handheld screens. With SnagIt 7, users can capture and archive screen images for handouts, lesson materials, or documents featuring graphics. Camtasia Studio 2 retails for $149, and SnagIt 7 retails for $25.
