Elana Kagan, 42, will be the first woman dean of Harvard University Law School (MA). Kagan's resume includes a stint at the White House as an aide to President Clinton, and as a clerk to Justice Thurgood Marshall at the U.S. Supreme Court. Kagan has taught at Harvard Law School since 1999.
