Molly Corbett Broad, president of the University of North Carolina for nine years, has announced that she will retire at the conclusion of the 2005-06 academic year. Her time at UNC is marked by enrollment growth, which has swelled from 160,000 to 190,000 at the 16-campus system, and by successful bond measures that brought $2.5 billion into the system.
Broad, 64, has several degrees in economics and had also held a top administrative spot at in the California State University system prior to coming to UNC...
