National-Louis University CIO Bob DeWitt uses reporting tools from Cognos, Inc., as well as a web-based dashboard for project and systems status. The dashboard was designed in-house.

But even in the high-tech world, there's room for an old favorite when it comes to managing time and projects. "The FranklinCovey Planner--I personally use this tool and the Covey [planning] principles to manage my time, tasks, and projects on a monthly, weekly, and daily basis," says Susan Bowen, CIO of Camden County College.
