Correction

The article "Dewey Goes Digital," (June issue) contains several I important factual errors regarding Richard M. Sudhalter's research for the book Stardust Melody: The Life and Music of Hoagy Carmichael (Oxford University q Press, 2002). The Archives of Traditional. Music at Indiana University houses the largest collection of Hoagy Carmichael material in the world, most from Carmichael's own collection.

Mr. Sudhalter conducted his research using these materials onsite at the Archives. Most of this work was completed before the launch of the Hoagy Carmichael Collection Web site (www.dlib.indiana.edu/collections/hoagy/) in November 1999.
