Cookies for cash: ESU spotlights cuts with `fundraiser' - Update
University Business, Oct, 2002 by Tim Goral
Faced with $1.7 million in state budget cuts, Emporia State University (KS) hew a September bake sale to recoup the cuts "one cookie at a time." The event, which raised about $400, was meant to "illustrate our financial circumstances and have some fun in the process," says ESU President Kay Schallenkamp. The money will be used to fund campus events.
