Use your intuition - New views on presentation systems and products
University Business, August, 2003 by Jean Marie Angelo
Polyvision's latest electronic interactive whiteboard addresses a widely held concern: Simply put, whiteboards are not "intuitive" to use, claims CEO Mike Dunn. For the past year, the company's mantra has been "walk up and use," meaning that instructors need to be able to walk into a room and get to work if they are ever going to turn whiteboards into teaching tools. Hence the name for Polyvision's newest series--the Walk-and-Talk Presentation Series. Not only do the whiteboards come with remote controls so that instructors can freely walk around the room while lecturing, they also operate sans the strips of icons usually found on the side of the whiteboard while it is in use. And, there is no need to preload any new software to get the new boards up and running. Prices are $1,899 for the 3-foot x 4-foot board; $2,199 for the 4 x 6; and $2,699 for the 4 x 8.
