East Parry Sound Almaguin Highlands Community Living. To develop a public education program and tool kit that will provide information about the barriers faced by children and adults with developmental disabilities. $4,500

Kapuskasing Disability Resource Centre for Independent Living. Will deliver presentations to increase awareness and provide information to high school students on invisible disabilities such as depression, lupus, diabetes and fibromyalgia. $1,894

Sudbury Independent Living Resource Centre. To facilitate a one-day conference for people with disabilities to promote accessibility to employment and educational services. $5,000

Thunder Bay Independent Living Resource Centre. To design and host workshops on how to interact appropriately with people with disabilities and the employability of people with disabilities. $4,875

Thunder Bay Lakehead Social Planning Council. To facilitate information workshops for people with disabilities about changes in local health care services that will be replaced by a new facility. People with disabilities will have the opportunity to provide input into the transition process. $5,000

Thunder Bay Persons United for Self-Help in Northwestern Ontario Inc. (P.U.S.H. Northwest) Thunder Bay will undertake a campaign to increase public awareness about barriers experienced by people with disabilities and find solutions for greater inclusion. $4,900

West Parry Sound, The Friends Supporting Those with Long Term Health Care Needs. To establish and develop a first annual regional conference for people with disabilities. The aim is for participants to receive tools and information that will assist them in overcoming barriers to their full participation in the community. $5,000

Timmins Therapeutic Riding Association. To develop an information package and facilitate presentations targeted to people with disabilities, caregivers, service providers and medical professionals about the benefits of therapeutic horse riding. $4,900

Asian Community AIDS Services Toronto. To develop a workshop module for family, friends, caregivers, community volunteers and staff to create awareness, sensitivity and how to better support people living with HIV/AIDS. $5,000

Collingwood Breaking Down Barriers. To establish a Speaker's Bureau to make presentations to schools (Grade 7 and up), service clubs, employers and community meetings to raise awareness about people with disabilities. $5,000

York Region Canadian Hearing Society. York Region will conduct an accessibility audit of medical facilities, public institutions and not-for-profit agencies in the region, and use the audit to produce an accessibility database to be used by people who are Deaf, deafened and hard of hearing. $5,000

Niagara Canadian Mental Health Association. Niagara Branch will facilitate a one-day wellness conference for people with persistent mental health disabilities and also conduct six months of mentorship and "tune-up" sessions to support participants in learning new strategies in coping with mental health disabilities. $3,119
