Public housing razed for rebuilding

TORONTO -- Demolition of Don Mount Court began and marks the beginning of the first major redevelopment of social housing in Toronto. Rebuilt Don Mount will he a mix of subsidized and market housing. The redevelopment will replace the superblock pattern of earlier public housing with a traditional Toronto street layout. Originally built as a federal and provincial partnership, Donmount is solely owned by the non-profit Toronto Community Housing Corporation set up by the City of Toronto.
