Friends of the Carp River. To create an environmental plan for the Carp River. Sound land management practices and possible revitalization projects will be proposed for discussions with land owners, the public and prospective implementation partners. $50,000 over eight months.

Heritage Ottawa. To prepare a bilingual booklet to guide walking tours of neighbourhoods containing unique terra cotta architecture. The initiative will promote local heritage and tourism. $9,700 over 14 months.

La Maison des Arts. To help renovate a landmark building in Embrun and purchase sound and light equipment in order to create a multi-service community facility that will be used for a wide range of cultural programs and activities. $45,800 over eight months.

The Mission. To provide the Mission's Hospice for the Homeless with a wheelchair-accessible van which will be used by its palliative care clients, many of whom are very ill or have severely limited mobility. $50,000 over three months.

Morrisburg and District Lions Club. To further develop a local mural project that depicts significant historical events and market it as a major tourist attraction. $33,000 over one year.

New Edinburgh Community Alliance. To help transform a centennial tree that is diseased into a statue in a local park as part of a community art and environmental improvement project. $2,000 over three months.

Ottawa Beavers-Banshees Rugby Football Club. To purchase equipment and uniforms for this community football club serving area youth. $13,400 over eight months.

Ottawa Indians Rugby Football Club. To purchase safety, audio-visual and technical equipment to promote, educate and train children, youth and women in the sport of rugby. $53,400 over one year.

The Ottawa Opera Boys Choir. To support the artistic development of the choir through the use of professional resources to improve performances. $30,000 over three years.

Ottawa Regional Youth Choir Society. To support special concerts, workshops, and the production of a CD / Multimedia package in celebration of the choir's 20th anniversary. $21,600 over 17 months.

Ottawa Riverkeeper Inc. To support the establishment of a program to protect and enhance ecological integrity of the Ottawa River through research, public education and networking. $115,400 over two years.

The Ottawa School of Speech and Drama. To improve instruction in speech arts through research, development and the implementation of a model that will focus on Canadian-based content to be used in the curriculum and delivery system. $65,000 over three years.

Ottawa Valley Autistic Homes. To purchase furnishings, including appliances, sturdy furniture for common areas, and office filing cabinets, for a newly acquired group home for severely autistic adults. $8,500 over one year.

Ottawa Water Polo Association. To foster the growth of water polo as a sport throughout the Ottawa area by supporting "I Love Water Polo" programs for youth in six new locations and helping acquire additional equipment for use in other programs. $153,000 over three years.

The Phoenix Centre for Children and Families. To create an interactive Web site which will help children become more aware of social issues and learn how to better cope with them as they grow older. $15,000 over three months.

Pinecrest Little League. To erect a batting cage that will enable little league baseball players to improve their skills. $13,900 over three months

Seaway Winds. To enable this 30-member community band to acquire concert band music and purchase equipment so that it will be able to provide more concerts in the Cornwall area. $9,500 over six months.
